Can I change the checkout process so that payment is only 'reserved' on the credit card but not actually charged until during / after the stay with the host? I'm trying to avoid a situation where there are too many hosts that don't keep their calendar updated and then bookings are made automatically and we have to cancel the booking and refund the transaction.

Hi,
In Paypal payment gateway, you have an option to set payment mode as "authorize" or "sale" in the admin panel. If you have set to "authorize", then if a customer books a property, amount will not transferred until the stay and status will be as "Pending". After the stay admin can change the status to complete, so that payment will be made. If you have set to "sale" then amount will be transferred immediately after payment.
Latest package of Airhotels have features like cancel reservation and refund transaction. you can upgrade your website with our latest package.

Good day,
After I invoiced for a cash reservation(only way to show the booking) I can't cancel. Is there something I am missing as there is no cancel option anywhere

You will need to enabled cancel option for user/guest from admin -> Airhotels -> Configuration.
